1. What we collect

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address only — nothing else. When you submit work, we collect the information you voluntarily provide in the submission form (your name if you choose to give it, contact email, and your writing). We never require your real name; anonymous submissions are always welcome.

Our server logs may record basic request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and debugging purposes. These logs are not linked to your identity and are deleted periodically.

2. How we use it

3. Anonymity & your name

Anonymous publishing is a core part of what Episodic stands for. If you submit work, you can choose to publish under a pseudonym, initials, or no name at all. We will make every reasonable effort to honor your byline and anonymity preferences exactly as requested. We will never publish your real name without explicit written consent.

4. Cookies

Episodic does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics platforms that profile you. We may store a session token in your browser's localStorage if you log in — this is only used to keep you signed in and is cleared when you log out.

5. Third-party services

We use Google Fonts to load typefaces (Literata and Plus Jakarta Sans). Google may log font requests. We use Tailwind CDN for styling. No social media tracking pixels or advertising networks are embedded in any Episodic page.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to delete your email from our newsletter list at any time — just email us and we'll remove it within 48 hours. You can ask to see any personal data we hold about you. You can withdraw consent for publication of your work before it is published.

7. Publication rights

Contributors retain ownership of their work. By submitting to Episodic, you grant us permission to publish the submitted material digitally as part of the magazine and its related platforms. Rights revert fully to the contributor upon publication unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

8. Minors

Episodic welcomes submissions from young writers. However, contributors under 13 should only submit with permission from a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect unnecessary personal information from children.

9. Sensitive content

Because Episodic publishes personal stories involving illness, disability, grief, trauma, and mental health, some content may be emotionally difficult. Reader discretion is advised. Content warnings are provided where possible.
